WATER   IS  AN  UNUSUAL  SUBSTANCE. IT IS A LIQUID AT THE temperatures we normally have on the earth. Most other substance have to be heated up or cooled  down before liquid. OCEANS OF WATER COVER TWO-thirds of the EARTHS surface, AND THERE IS A WATER IN LAKES AND RIVERS. WATER is also found in the atmosphere in the form of a gas called WATER  VAPOUR . 

A submarine usually travels deep below the surface of the WATER  where WATER  pressure is immense.  the bull of the submarine is made of two layers of steel to withstand the pressure which  acts  upwards  and  sideways  as  well  as  downwards.
